Strategy or Serendipity?

Recently I passed through Paris. I was in a car, being driven to INSEAD, a top business school in Fontainebleau. I had applied there a long time ago, when I thought gaining an MBA was needed for the next chapter of my life. They turned me down, not surprisingly, since I didn’t have the type of high-flying business experience they sought. I wrote essays for my application but they were all a bit soppy… ‘I want to make the world a better place’ etc.
